Best Essential Oils for Happiness

Mimosa Essential Oil

Mimosa is synonymous with Spring and a signal to the mind and body that the seasons are changing. The scent is woody and powdery and has sweet and super-floral notes too. The yellow oil is extracted from the deep yellow pom pom flowers that are in full bloom in early spring which gives us the freshest and most potent oil for a truly calming and warming effect.

Neroli Essential Oil

Neroli oil. Oh how we love you. One of the most precious and expensive oils around that gives both a refreshingly sweet and spicy aroma and an oil that is considered a hydration powerhouse when it comes to moisturising skin.

The oil is used to soften and lock in moisture and has also been linked to many other health benefits such as reducing inflammation, alleviating stress, stimulating circulation and even enhancing mood (so much so, that it is said to have aphrodisiac effects.)

Hand-picked precious blossoms from the bitter orange tree are gently steam distilled for the most pure and precious oil sometimes referred to as orange blossom oil. Like rose, the scent can be uplifting whilst also calming at the same time – perfect to help balance emotions and positivity.

When inhaled, it is believed Neroli may help encourage the brain to release serotonin, the happy hormone, as well as reducing cortisol, the stress hormone.

Orange Essential Oil

Sweet n' fruity. The orange tree is one of the oldest and most commonly grown fruit trees in the world. The oil is sometimes extracted from the leaves of the flowers of the orange plant but mostly it is derived from the peels of sweet oranges by a method of cold pressing, meaning the rind is squeezed for the oil that gives the freshest oil.

The fresh, citrussy and seriously zesty scent of the oil is uplifting yet at the same time can be calming. So perfect to use night and day to feel uplifted and invigorated, and perfect to combat a lull in positivity and happiness.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Sharp, cool and refreshing – peppermint oil is truly unique and distinct.

Peppermint oil is a long-standing favourite for aromatherapists due to its distinct and stimulating properties. The oil is extracted from the leaves of a hybrid cross between the spearmint and watermint plant, part of the mint family. Its scent is sharp, cool and refreshing, making for a pleasing natural fragrance that is said to invigorate the mind and encourage clear thinking.

For this reason, it has been considered a useful oil for an energy boost. With fatigue being closely linked to mood imbalance, peppermint may too offer that all-important mood boost!

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender is a true natural hero and one that pops up time and time again. It’s fresh and floral aromas have been linked with a diverse range of benefits and the oil blends so brilliantly with so many other essential oils that it is undoubtedly one of the top essential oils for wellbeing.

Whilst it’s calming powers make it brilliant for helping you get a good night’s sleep; the fresh and floral scent may help lower that built up tension. This helps create balance and inner calm, helping you feel positive, happy and in control.
